Fire and Rescue NSW Shoalhaven station crews attended an address in Supply Street, East Nowra shortly after 5.30am.
On arrival the crew found the single-storey brick home well alight.
Quick work by the crew, backed up by the retained crew from Fire and Rescue NSW Nowra station, quickly extinguished the blaze.
Firefighters donned breathing apparatus and with a hose made a search of the home and found it was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
Fire damage was contained to the lounge and living area, however there was smoke damage to most of the residence.
It is believed the origin of the fire was in the lounge room but further investigations by police forensic specialists are being carried out.
