Funding is available under this year’s Public Reserve Management Fund supplementary round to support showgrounds.
Local showground managers are invited to apply for grants and loans to assist them in the development, maintenance and improvement of their reserves.
Kiama MP Gareth Ward said the $700,000 was in addition to the $23.6 million in spending across all reserve types which was recently announced.
“Two million dollars of this record funding went to iconic regional showground improvements,” he said.
This, and the additional funds on offer, will support the maintenance of regional showgrounds just in time for the 2014 show season – an important period for communities to get together, have fun and celebrate country life.
The supplementary round will open for applications on Tuesday, December 10 and showground managers have until Thursday, January 16 to submit their applications.
Showground managers interested in applying for financial support should access the NSW Crown Lands website at www.crownland.nsw.gov.au.
