To mark International Volunteers Day, Mayor Joanna Gash thanked members of the community who so generously and selflessly give their time to help out with local affairs.
Council has volunteers undertaking work in areas such as bushcare, park care, management committees, leisure centres, library services, the Shoalhaven City Arts Centre, Australia Day volunteers and many other roles.
“Without your selfless and tireless contributions, we would not have the same standard of services and living in the Shoalhaven, with many important council resources such as the community centres, arts centre and library relying on the hard work of volunteers,” Cr Gash said.
“Volunteers are the backbone of Shoalhaven towns and villages, supporting and strengthening local communities, you should be proud of your contribution to our city.”
