7AM FRIDAY: The Hancocks fire burning to the west of Wandandian has been contained. It has burnt out about 43 hectares.
10.30PM: The bushfire in the Wandandian area has been downgraded to Watch and Act, however the Rural Fire Service is warning properties may still be at risk later tonight.
The Hancocks Fire is burning to the west of Wandandian near Bollerang Road.
Authorities are urging residents to check and follow their Bush Fire Survival Plan. If you live in the area but are away from home, it may not be safe to return to your property.
9.30PM: The Hancock Creek Road fire at Wandandian remains one of six bushfires posing NSW firefighters the most concern on Thursday night.
The fire to the west of Wandandian near Bollerang Road is subject to an emergency warning, the highest level of bushfire alert.
Fire authorities are warning properties may come under threat later tonight and residents are being advised to seek shelter.
If you live in the area but are away from home, it may not be safe to return to your property.
The next update is expected at 10.30pm, if the situation changes.
7PM: A bushfire emergency warning has been issued for residents of Hancock Creek Road at Wandandian.
The Rural Fire Service is battling an out-of-control bushfire in that area and people are being advised to seek shelter.
The fire is reportedly near Maddens Road and heading east.
There are few details about the Hancocks fire at this stage, however an emergency warning is the highest level of bush fire alert. You may be in danger and need to take action immediately.
