BOMADERRY Commercial Launderette won the Service Excellence category.
“I just could not believe it,” owner Melanie Taylor said.
“We hadn’t been in business all that long – we didn’t expect that.”
The laundrette has been in business in Bomaderry for just on three years and has grown from a staff of three to 12.
They offer a dry-cleaning service to commercial properties from Kiama to Lake Tabourie.
“We started with seven businesses and now have almost 60 businesses on the books,” Mrs Taylor said.
“It certainly keeps us out of mischief.
“Most of our staff came through Essential Personnel, and they are the ones who nominated us.
“When we were announced the winners my legs wouldn’t hold me up. I was thinking, ‘This isn’t real it’s just not happening’.
“I told the staff on Monday that it was due to all the teamwork.
“Everybody has to pull their weight, even the bookkeeper has worked on the floor here.
“We all pitch in. It’s hard yakka and it’s hot, it’s not glamorous, but we must do something right.
“We go beyond the call, but small business has to be like that these days, got to be better than the average bear,” she said.
