THE Shoalhaven River Festival on October 26 has won backing from the NSW Government.
Following representations from both local MPs Shelley Hancock and Gareth Ward, the Premier has announced a $7500 donation to this year’s festival.
South Coast MP Shelley Hancock said the Premier has made the funding available through his discretionary funds.
“The Premier obviously sees this as a worthy project as we do, which is fantastic,” Mrs Hancock said.
Shoalhaven Tourism chairperson and festival organising committee member Catherine Shields said the state government funding could not have come at a better time.
“It is wonderful and will really help and make a difference for our first river festival,” she said.
