NORTH Nowra-Cambewarra have come out firing in the first round of the 2013/14 season smashing 326 runs on day one against Nowra Green at the Added Area on Saturday.
Opening batsman Roger Woods (41) put his team in a good position and was backed up by Mark Edwards (67), Kaled Phillips (63) amd Luke Huard (63).
Norths batted for 75 overs and finished 7/326 despite the best efforts of Nowra Green’s bowlers Dane Bowen (2/48), Gary Bowen (2/32) and Lachlan Butfield (2/53).
Over at Zealand Oval Berry-Soalhaven Heads had Nowra White all out for 138 after 29.5 overs with top scores from Glenn Midson (35) and Neil Leishman (32).
Berry’s Joe Rogers was unstoppable with the ball and took 5/44 off 12 overs.
Berry went in to bat and sit 6/162 after 39 overs thanks to top scores from Mal Windley (66) and Peter Richardson (28).
Nowra’s Mitchell Smith took 4/27 off his eight overs.
Shoalhaven Ex-Servisemens are well on their way to taking maximum points against Bay and Basin after they bowled the southern team out for 95 at Howra High.
Vincent Morris was a standout for Ex-Servo on day one with 6/37 off 11 overs.
Ex-Servos then went in to bat with Barry Cumberland (50), Scott Cusak (34) and Morris (35 n.o) leading their team to 5/195 at stumps.
