THE Shoalhaven Men in Sport Calendar 2014 is just one week from its launch night.
Three of the Shoalhaven’s senior cricketers have put their hand up to reveal a softer side of their personalities for charity.
Scott Fagerlund is newly signed to Nowra Cricket Club and it will be his second year in the calendar.
Despite being a year older, at 19 years and 10 months old, he is still the youngest of the athletes to appear.
Fagerlund was a hit last year and his story on living with type one diabetes featured in the calendar launch night.
Fagerlund is closely followed in age by John Muggleton, 20, whose photo in the calendar will be the inspiration behind the “making of” DVD this year.
Muggleton appears in front of the work of local artist Jillian Naidu, whose husband passed away six years ago, aged 46, from cancer.
This amazing story will be the highlight of the night and will feature on the DVD along with many funny outtakes from the shoots, and photos that were taken but not picked to appear in the calendar.
Matt Tyler represents cricket and AFL, but has donated his time to be a part of the calendar.
This year all proceeds raised from the calendar will go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
“The calendar committee is so grateful to all of our athletes who volunteer their time, as well as chasing sponsors and supporting the whole concept of the calendar’s objectives of promoting men’s health,” said committee member Cathy Russell.
The calendar will be launched at the Bomaderry Bowling Club on Friday, October 18.
Michael Cronin will be the special guest on the night and all of the athletes will be featured in the making of DVD, as well as being available to sign calendars.
