POLICE have charged a 23-year-old man from Pearch in the ACT with allegedly attempting to bring in drugs and syringes into Shoalhaven Correctional Centre.
At about 11am on Sunday police attended the jail in relation to a man allegedly in possession of drugs.
Police alleged that Corrective Service officers had cause to search the man and his car.
They found 1.9 grams of what police believe to be heroin and amount of drug paraphernalia, including syringes.
The man was issued with a Court Attendance Notice for possess prohibited drug, bring drug into Correctional Centre and bring syringe into Correctional Centre.
He will appear before Nowra Local Court on November 4.
