THE area’s two cruise charter companies both reported busy trade, especially on Wednesday, when they conducted 38 cruises.
Dolphin Watch Tours owner Stuart King said his company conducted 17 tours on Wednesday alone, catering for around 2500 people.
“Wednesday was by far our biggest day,” he said.
“It is the busiest day we will probably have all year.
“It was fantastic having the fleet in the bay. It was certainly good for the town. Great for business.
“I know a lot of the restaurants did great trade.”
Jervis Bay Wild Cruises also undertook a number of cruises over the fleet visit, including 21 on Wednesday alone.
“Wednesday was a massive day that went really well,” said Beatrice Langley.
“All up we have had around 1200 passengers over the three days we conducted tours.
“The customers loved it. They loved being able to see the ships and hear a description of each.
“We also had a cruise out on Wednesday evening seeing the ships all lit up and the fireworks, which were spectacular.
“It would be great to have events like this a couple of times a year. It is certainly good for the area.”
