Dr Cleary and Shoalhaven LINAC co-founder Paul Dean were the brains behind the centre.
“This is just so impressive. I feel like a kid in a candy shop,” she said.
“We got some very good men on side; Paul Dean, Greg Watson, Peter Dun and Mark Crowther and Shoalhaven council came on board.
“And everything went from there, now here we are.
“I’m so, so overwhelmed. This has happened in the space of 10 years. It’s just remarkable.”
She said her late husband would know the centre is built.
“He’s up there now looking down on us saying we started that and we built it,” she said.
“It’s a credit to all the people who stayed on the committee and worked so hard.”
