VINCENTIA High School was presented with a Variety Sunshine Coach yesterday.
Gathered for the handover, students could not stop smiling as they patiently sat in the bus ready to be taken on an excursion.
Principal Steve Glenday had the honour of the first drive and took some students to the Huskisson Wharf.
The lucky students, capping off a great day, then went on a cruise around Jervis Bay.
It was heartening to see the result of local groups and a national organisation like Variety coming together to support a local school.
Vincentia High School’s Parents and Citizens Association joined forces with Variety, St Georges Basin Country Club, Huskisson RSL, Sussex Inlet RSL and GJ Gardiner Homes to secure the bus.
Local Variety Bash members, along with their cars, attended the event.
The students enjoyed the chance to see the rally cars and many photos were taken.
More details and photos will appear in Friday’s South Coast Register.
