THE sixth annual Shoalhaven Dragon Boat Regatta has been hailed by organisers and participants as another successful event on the river.
Numbers of competitors and spectators was similar to previous years, with the weather holding out during the event.
On the social side of the regatta were 18 community teams decked out in bright colours with plenty of laughs and cheers to go around.
While in the more serious events there were eight sports crews including three teams from Canberra, one from Moruya and one team from Merimbula.
Nowra Water Draggons member and one of the regatta organisers Sue Maloney from Nowra said it was wonderful to see so many people return year after year.
“It’s a really fun day and I think that’s why so many of the teams return each year,” she said.
“Once this one is over, we will start planning next years.”
