A Nowra Hill man stopped by police for cycling without a helmet has been charged with having stolen goods in custody. At about 6.45pm on Friday police attached to the Shoalhaven Target Arrest Group where patrolling Albatross Road, Nowra Hill when they a stopped a man who was riding a mountain bike without an approved safety helmet. After speaking with the man police formed the opinion that the mountain bike may have been stolen or unlawfully obtained. Police seized the bike. Further enquiries found that an identical mountain bike had been stolen during a break and enter at a bike shop in Haigh Avenue in Nowra on August 11. At about 10.30pm on Friday police arrested a 35-year-old Nowra man at Nowra Hill. The man was taken to Nowra Police Station and charged with goods in personal custody suspected to be stolen. The man was refused bail to Nowra Bail Court on Saturday where he was granted conditional bail to appear at Nowra Local Court on Monday September 30.
