A 20-year-old Nowra woman has been charged with assault after she allegedly threatened to hit police with a stick.
Police were called to the emergency department of Shoalhaven Hospital at 5.40am Sunday in relation to a woman causing a disturbance.
When police entered the waiting room the woman was holding a large stick in her hand and refused to put it down despite numerous requests.
Police alleged the woman then swung the stick towards an officer.
They used capsicum spray to subdue her, but while they attempted to restrain her she resisted violently.
The woman was arrested and taken to Nowra Police Station where she was charged with assault and resisting police.
She was granted conditional bail to appear in Nowra Local Court on October 14.
