SHOALHAVEN City Council will host a number of guided walks and bush regeneration training as part of the upcoming Bushcare Major Day Out program.
The Bushcare Major Day Out event allows interested community members to see local Bushcare regeneration project sites and learn more about the work done by Bushcare volunteers across the city.
Shoalhaven Mayor Joanna Gash praised the work of the area’s 66 Bushcare groups, saying the groups were responsible for keeping much of the natural environment in pristine condition.
“Many residents may not be aware as to the amazing work undertaken by Shoalhaven’s many Bushcare groups and volunteers,” Cr Gash said.
“Bushcare groups undertake a number of important projects across the city including bush regeneration, weed removal and control, revegetation and walking track maintenance.
“The upcoming Bushcare Major Day Out event provides interested local residents the opportunity to view some of the recent projects undertaken by local groups and learn valuable tips in bush regeneration.
“I would certainly encourage all residents with an interest in preserving and rehabilitating the area’s bushland to attend the upcoming open days.”
