A REVIEW of weed management across NSW is being undertaken by the state government.
Commissioner for Natural Resources, Dr John Keniry AM, will lead the review.
It will look into existing regulation, governance and other inter-governmental agreements for bio-security.
The review represents an opportunity to establish how farmers and land managers can be supported to tackle problem weeds.
Weeds cost farmers $1.2 billion annually in lost productivity.
The government has allocated $10.8 million to weed management for the 2013-14 financial year through the NSW Weeds Action Program and the Weed Innovation Management Fund.
Landholders and other stakeholders will be invited to have their say as part of public consultation later in the year.
Further information on the review is available at www.nrc.nsw.gov.au.
