Police have laid additional charges against five men who were previously charged by Strike Force Riordan over a number of offences allegedly committed in the Shoalhaven, Illawarra, and Bowral areas.
The men, aged 25, 23, 22 and two 20-year-olds, appeared at Wollongong Court on Wednesday after being previously charged by officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command attached to Strike Force Riordan.
The five men and a 21-year-old woman were all arrested after search warrants were executed on June 14, 2013, and were charged with 70 offences. These related to a series of aggravated break, enter and steal and aggravated armed robbery offences.
These were allegedly committed against commercial premises in the Illawarra, Wollongong, Bowral and Shoalhaven areas.
The 25-year-old man was charged with an additional 59 offences, the 23-year-old man an additional 58 offences and the 22-year-old man and additional 23 offences.
All five men are now facing a total of 155 offences. These charges include aggravated break, enter and steal, steal motor vehicle, police pursuit and ongoing drug supply.
Four men remain in custody and are due to reappear in Wollongong Local Court on September 25 while the 22-year-old man has conditional bail until that date.
Strike Force Riordan continues with their investigation and it is expected that further arrests will be made and additional charges laid by investigators.
