LOCAL motorists have been told to expect changed traffic conditions on Rose Valley Road as part of the Princes Highway upgrade at Gerringong.
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) will move traffic in two stages in the coming weeks to progress work on the upgrade.
Stage one of the traffic changes will start from Monday, August 12 and will involve moving the U turn bay and bus stop at Rose Valley Road to a temporary access road south of the existing location.
Work will be carried out on weekdays from 7am to 6pm and on Saturdays from 8am to 1pm.
Stage two will involve moving traffic onto a temporary road east of the existing highway near Rose Valley Road from Thursday, August 22 until early next year.
The intersection of the Princes Highway and Rose Valley Road will also be moved south of the existing location.
Work to build the temporary road and intersection will be carried out from 6pm to 7am on Sunday, August 18 to Wednesday, August 21, to minimise delays to motorists.
The work will include line marking, safety barrier relocation, road surfacing work and sign installation.
Some occasional lane closures on the Princes Highway and Rose Valley Road may be needed and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will apply while work is carried out.
The 60km/h speed limit will be reinstated when work to move traffic to the temporary road is completed.
Traffic management and signs will be in place to advise to motorists of the changes.
Wet weather may change work dates and times.
