LOCAL community groups and other not-for-profit organisations are being urged to make a submission for a share in the NRMA's $100,000 grants program to support local road safety initiatives.
The NRMA said the grants were part of its ongoing commitment to safer roads across the region.
Grants will be awarded in the following five categories:
General Community: Grants of up to $5000 for community based road safety initiatives.
Older Road Users: four grants of $2500 for older road users.
High Schools: four grants of $2500 to support road safety education at schools.
Primary Schools: four grants of $2500 to support road safety education at schools.
Youth-based organisations: four grants of $2500 to support youth road safety education initiatives in the community.
Submissions opened on August 1 and will close on Monday, September 30.
Successful recipients will be announced by Saturday, November 30.
