Dean James Howard McLeod, of Wool Road, Vincentia, was one of three people arrested by police in a car in Nowra on Monday, from which police recovered a stash of knives and a firearm.
Police pulled the SS Holden Commodore over in Schofields Lane, adjacent to the Red Cross shop, and noticed a number of knives on the back seat of the vehicle.
A further search of the vehicle recovered a firearm in the boot and a quantity of ammunition.
McLeod was charged with possessing an unregistered firearm, a Boito 12 gauge single barrel shotgun, possessing ammunition without a licence or permit, not keeping a firearm safely and with being in custody of a knife in a public place.
He appeared in Nowra Local Court on Monday and was granted bail to appear in Nowra Local Court on August 26.
The female was arrested and charged with being a suspended driver, while a second man aged 50 was charged with outstanding warrants.
Police seized the vehicle and removed it from the scene on the back of a truck to undergo further examination.
