POLICE are calling on the public to help with information about a hit-and-run accident in Nowra on Monday afternoon that has left a 50-year-old Nowra motorcyclist with head injuries.
Police were called to the accident scene shortly after 4.30pm Monday, where it is alleged a motorcyclist was knocked off his bike by a car, which later left the scene.
Police said the motorcyclist was travelling south on Kinghorne Street when a vehicle failed to stop at a give-way sign in Albert Street, and struck the rider.
He was knocked from his bike, landing three metres away.
The unconscious man was treated by witnesses until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and stabilised him before taking him to Shoalhaven District Hospital.
Police are looking for the driver of a light gold early model Holden Commodore or Ford Falcon, which was seen leaving the accident scene.
It has a louvre on the back window and a roof rack.
