The Walsh House is a two bedroom, two bathroom property that sits on 2.2 hectares.
Rosemary and Robert Walsh purchased the two hectare block in 1999 for less than $250,000. The Glenn Murcutt home was built over four years.
The property now has a price tag of $1,975,000.
Glenn Murcutt’s design motto is ‘touch the earth lightly’ and his buildings are well known for being highly economical and multifunctional.
Murcutt’s homes fit into the Australian landscape and he often considers environmental factors such as wind direction, temperature and light before he designs the building.
The facades on the southern and western ends of Walsh House have been constructed using rustic materials and few windows due to the positioning of the house during winter.
The northern and eastern sides of the house open up to views of the Valley.
