AN 18-year-old Bomaderry man appeared in Nowra court yesterday charged with allegedly threatening a woman at knifepoint outside a Bomaderry supermarket.
It’s alleged about 6.50pm on Wednesday, a 42-year-old woman was leaving the IGA Supermarket in Lyndhurst Drive, Bomaderry, when she was approached by a man with a knife.
Police have been told the man threatened the woman with a knife and a witness rang police.
The woman fell to the ground with the man grabbing her purse and running off.
During the incident, the woman sustained a laceration to her hand.
Emergency services arrived a short time later and the woman was taken to Shoalhaven Hospital for treatment for her injury as well as suffering shock.
Police from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command started investigations into the incident and yesterday morning, executed a search warrant at a nearby home, where they seized a number of items.
A short time later, police patrolling the Nowra area arrested an 18-year-old man on Quadrant Street, East Nowra.
He was taken to Nowra Police Station where he was charged with armed robbery.
The man was refused bail and was to appear before Nowra Local Court yesterday.
