ONE of the signature events of the popular Arts in the Valley Festival, is the Sculpture in the Valley.
The biennial three-day festival will be staged in Kangaroo Valley from May 3-5.
Sculpture in the Valley encompasses both outdoor and indoor sculpture and attracts the work of local sculptors as well as entries from Sydney and Canberra.
It’s still not too late to enter, with entries due on March 22.
The outdoor sculptures will be showcased at local property Wombat Hill, one of Kangaroo Valley’s most beautiful gardens.
The adjoining property, Graystone Grange, will house the indoor sculpture exhibition.
All the sculptures will be for sale and many of the sculptors will be present at the official opening and announcement of first prize on Saturday, May 4 from 10am.
The first prize for outdoor sculpture will be $10,000, with $2000 for second, while first prize for indoor sculpture will win $3000.
A People’s Choice Prize of $1000 will also be awarded for each exhibition and the recipients will be announced at the closing concert on May 5.
