TAKING a replica revolver into a bottle shop has resulted in a nine-month good behaviour bond and a $500 fine for a Sanctuary Point man.
In Nowra Local Court, Raymond Trimboli, 49, of Sanctuary Point Road, pleaded guilty to charges of entering a building with an imitation firearm, possessing an unregistered firearm and intimidation.
Trimboli went to the Sanctuary Point BWS bottle shop at 10am on July 31 and showed the revolver he had stuck down the back of his pants to the shop assistant.
When she reacted with shock, he told her it was fake and bought some cans of Jack Daniels.
She told her manager, but it was Trimboli himself who contacted police later that day and said he had done something stupid.
When they arrived he handed over the 30cm black metal revolver saying, “I thought I was Chopper Read”.
He told police he had bought the inoperable gun from the Huskisson tip, but could not recall how long ago.
