HOT, humid conditions, along with a furious spell of bowling from Bomaderry’s Jordan Matthews (7/54), failed to slow Ex-Servicemen’s Chris Bramley whose fighting 64 runs helped his team accumulate an unbeatable total at Bomaderry Oval, bundling minor premiers Bomaderry out of the premiership race.
After winning the toss, and electing to bat, Ex-Servicemen’s opening batsmen Lain Beckett and Matt Ganderton posted a half century partnership. But when Shane Halliday, Brady Spelta and Daniel Gleeson were dismissed for a total of 15 runs, Ex-Servos’ middle order was called on to save the day.
Bramley’s 64 included five boundaries and a six. When he was joined at the crease by George Dickie (32) the pair posted a 98 run partnership and Ex-Servos finished with 235 runs.
In reply Bomaderry struggled to generate momentum against the Ex-Servos’ attack and despite a half century to Jordan Matthews (58 n.o) that included a courageous 39 run last wicket partnership with young Zac Blattner, the minor premiers were dismissed for 147 in the 57th over handing victory, and a place in next weekend’s grand-final, to the Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemen.
