Guilty plea for a range of charges ends in jail

A NOWRA man caught with a screwdriver, cannabis, a prescription and some anti-anxiety pills has been given a 12-month jail sentence.

In Nowra Local Court, Todd Carey, 29, of Stuart Street, pleaded guilty to possessing an implement to enter or drive a vehicle, possessing a prescribed restricted substance, having custody of goods suspected of being stolen and possessing a prohibited drug.

Police patrolling Queensborough Street, Nowra, at 4.45pm on February 25 noticed Carey and approached him on another matter.

A search found 1.5 grams of cannabis, the screwdriver, 10 tablets he said were Xanax and a script for the antibiotic Ibilex in the name of a woman.
