On the back page of Monday’s South Coast Register we reported that the run-out between Brandon Labb and Callum Franchi from Bay and Basin occurred when Franchi ran from the non strikers end only to find Labb still standing in his crease at the strikers end.
It was actually Callum Franchi who was on strike at the time.
Franchi batted a delivery into a small gap prompting Brandon Labb to sprint from the non strikers end.
The run-out dismissal was at Bernie Regan Sporting Complex on Sunday during the under 16 grand final. Even though Franchi did not attempt to run he was standing outside his crease at the time Labb ran passed him, therefore the batsmen had in-fact crossed.
This left Franchi well short of his crease at the bowler’s end where the bails were removed.
