Bomaderry catch Norths short

Despite the best efforts of North Nowra-Cambewarra’s Mia Davidson (3/10/6), Brodie Neilson (3/17/5) and Lloyd Herron (2/12/7) who cleaned up Bomaderry’s batting top order, the depth of Bomaderry’s batting line up saved the day for the Tigers who claimed a narrow 10 run victory in the under 14 grand final at Zealand Oval.

After winning the toss Dayne and Tyrone Johnstone opened the batting for Bomaderry. Norths captain Lloyd Herron and Hayden Strand struck quickly to remove both openers for just five runs. Brody Neilson and Mia Davidson did the same to William Patterson (11) and Zac Blattner (3) to have Bomaderry looking out of sorts at 4/29.

Campbell Eldred steadied the ship with an innings of 22 runs, supported by Kealen Blattner (14).

Helped by 20 extras, Bomaderry was dismissed in the 44th over for 94 runs.

In reply North Nowra-Cambewarra also got off to a shaky start when Hayden Strand was run out by Zac Blattner for just one run and Liam Davis sent Brody Nielson back to the sheds after scoring just seven runs.

With his team at 3/25 North captain Lloyd Herron took control of the innings scoring a quick-fire 30 before Tyron Johnston made the crucial breakthrough thanks to a Zac Blattner catch.

Mia Davidson was looking comfortable on 10 runs until Ethan Adlington trapped her lbw.

With just 10 runs standing between Norths and victory it was Ethan Adlington who claimed victory for Bomaderry when he clean bowled Lachlan Mark for a duck to have Norths for 84 in the 42st over.
