New principals take the helm

ASK Bob Willetts about his first impressions on Berry Public School and you will be told about a positive, caring and respectful place.

Mr Willetts replaced relieving principal Peter Burney and comes to the area after a five-year appointment at Barellan Public School.

He feels privileged to be appointed to a school he rated as excellent.

“The students have been welcoming and respectful and also recently I had an excellent meeting with the parents and citizens association,” he said.

With his professional staff and dedicated parents and citizen association, Mr Willetts thinks his new appointment will be a fruitful one.

All parties are working in a vision for Berry Public’s future.

He intends to use the school’s strengths, from sport to music and academic success, to everyone’s advantage.

Mr Willetts said he wanted to set some long and short-term goals and added Berry was just a strong all round school.

A sense of community is important to the new principal, who happily accompanied his students when they headed to the Berry Show.

Mr Willetts has been an educator for 18 years.
