Husky defeated in extra time

THE Huskisson Vincentia 35 football team travelled to Wagga Wagga on March 2 and 3 to play a knockout competition.

On Saturday the team won its first game 2-1, but lost the second game 1-nil, and went down in the third game 2-nil.

On Sunday, Huskisson played Temora first and won 3-nil.

The team then had to wait on the result of another game to see if it was going to make it to the plate final.

The finalists were decided by the toss of a coin, which went in Huskisson’s favour.

The final against Hazelbrook White went into golden goal overtime after the teams were 1-all at full time.

Unfortunately Hazelbrook was too strong and secured a goal in the first half of extra time.

Despite the loss, the weather was perfect and a great weekend was had by all.

For the 2014 tournament, the Wagga Wagga United Football Club is investigating having two divisions, an over 35s and over 45s division.
