A stand-off at Sussex Inlet has ended peacefully.
A TENSE stand-off between police and a motorist near Sussex Inlet this afternoon has ended peacefully.
A manwas arrested on Old Berrara Road, just west of the Sussex township, mid-afternoon.
The man had allegedly been seen speeding on the Princes Highway.
He turned into Sussex Inlet Road heading for the seaside village.
The vehicle was spotted by police, and performed a U turn before heading back towards the highway.
The vehicle turned onto Old Berrara Road and parked a short way down a drive away.
Officers kept a safe distance until back-up arrived, during which time the man contacted triple-0 on his mobile phone and warned police to back off.
The northern exit of the road was blocked and after more police arrived the man was taken into custody.
