AUTUMN in the Shoalhaven means it’s time for the Shoalhaven City Turf Club to host its popular Autumn Racing Carnival.

Last year’s inaugural event was a huge success and this year the Autumn Carnival will be held across three consecutive Sundays.

The must do trio of social events kicks off on Sunday, March 17 with the Country Motor Company Tradies Day featuring the Isuzu Ute Country Cup.

The Isuzu Cup is sure to attract a quality field with $17,000 in prizemoney on offer, and the Isuzu Ute girls will attract the male punters.

The following Sunday, Easter Sunday, will see the running of the Terry Harvey Carpet Court Greenwell Point Cup.

Thanks to the continued sponsorship of the event by Terry Harvey Carpet Court, this year’s Greenwell Point Cup will carry a prize purse of $25,000.

The class two Leaves Away town plate handicap over 1400m has a $17,000 prize pool.

Rounding out the 2013 Autumn Carnival will be the Kinghorn Motor Group Girls Day Out featuring the $30,000 Nowra Cup as well as guest appearance by the men from the 2013 Firefighters’ Calendar.

Also on the card will be the $20,000 Belle of the South Benchmark 65 for fillies and mares over 1200m.

Fashions on the field will headline the Autumn Carnival.

Country Motor Company Tradies Day will carry a green theme in line with St Patrick’s Day and the Isuzu Ute girls will be looking for the best dressed tradie, best dressed lady and best dressed couple.

The $10,000 worth of prizes on offer includes diamond jewellery thanks to Nowra Jewellers and a five night Club Med Asia holiday thanks to Harvey World Travel.

On Greenwell Point Cup race day, judges will be looking for the best Easter hat in under 18 and over 18 categories.

This year’s Girls Day Out fashions on the field has attracted a prize pool of $12,000 to be shared over four categories, stylish couple, fashionable filly, glamorous lady and magnificent millinery. Judging will be handled by special guests who will be assisted by the 2013 Firefighters’ calendar team.

Everyone has the chance to be a winner at the Spring Carnival; even the trainers who will compete for a $2000 bonus presented to the most successful trainer over the three Autumn Carnival race days. The Telstra Business Centre in Nowra has come on board as sponsors of this event.
