Riders and machines struggle in challenging conditions

WHILE players in the Shoalhaven District Cricket Association first and second grade competition was left twiddling their thumbs on Saturday afternoon as they watched the rain fall, one group of brave souls were getting ready to tackle whatever conditions Mother Nature threw at it.

The opening round of the popular King of the Bush dirt bike endurance series was held at the Nowra District and Motorcycle Club’s Braidwood Road complex yesterday and the boggy and slippery conditions pushed riders and machines to the limit.

Track sweepers were called into action numerous times during the day to head out into the bush and recover stuck and broken down competitors who had become stranded out on the wet, muddy and torturous 12.5 km circuit.
