House fire investigation

POLICE are investigating a fire which broke out in a home in Antares Close at East Nowra this morning (Wednesday).

Two appliances from the Fire and Rescue NSW Nowra brigade were called to the home just after 8.15am.

Firefighters donned breathing apparatus and searched the home but found no occupants.

Quick action by firefighters soon had the blaze under control before it could engulf the rest of the house.

Nowra brigade station officer Mick Adams said firefighters found two blazes, one in the kitchen and one in a lounge room, which were both quickly extinguished.

The home suffered fire and smoke damage.

The fire is considered suspicious, a crime scene has been established with police and crime scene investigators looking into the cause of the fire.
