GREATER Western Sydney Giants’ coach and Australian Football League legend, Kevin Sheedy, flew into the Shoalhaven in style yesterday when he and GWS player Dom Tyson arrived at HMAS Albatross from Sydney aboard a Navy Seahawk helicopter flown by members of the local 723 squadron.
The pair visited the Shoalhaven to launch the 2013 AFL South Coast season and conduct skills clinics with local school children.
Last night almost 100 people attended a dinner at the Nowra Gold Club to launch the local competition. The large crowd on hand were entertained with stories from Sheedy’s extensive career and enjoyed an insight into the workings of the Greater Western Sydney Giants Australian Football
Club.
More details and photographs from Sheedy’s visit will appear in Friday’s edition of the Register.
