THE South Coast Register’s weekly fishing columnist Johnny Nolan received this eye catching photo of a bass caught from Tallowa Dam by local fisherman Mark Koosache.
“I didn’t get too excited when the email arrived,” Nolan said.
“Plenty of bass have been caught around Tallowa Dam.”
Despite his extensive fishing experience, Nolan said he had never seen a bass of this colour before.
“It’s an amazing bright yellow or golden in colour with matching fins and big black eyes,” he said.
“It’s definitely a bass and the catch was witnessed by several other bass fishermen in the area at the time.”
Koosache released the fish and it will be interesting to see if we hear from any other fishos who hook the brightly coloured specimen in the future.
