THE Shoalhaven is making a name for itself as an international destination, with a 25 per cent increase in overseas visitation across the year to June 2012.
Despite ongoing concerns with the world economy, the Shoalhaven recorded over 231,000 international visitor nights in the 2011/12 year, with 31,000 individual international visitors, according to the recently released Tourism in the Shoalhaven – Profile and Statement of Economic Impact report.
International visitation increased 25 per cent across the previous financial year and now accounts for $24 million injected directly into the Shoalhaven economy every year.
