Police are appealing for public assistance after a woman was indecently assaulted in Nowra.
About 7.30pm on Sunday (24 February 2013), a 23-year-old woman was walking on McKay Street, near the intersection of Quickmatch Street, when she was approached from behind by a man.
Police have been told the man grabbed the woman, holding her arms down while he indecently assaulted her.
As the man tried to force the woman to the ground, she was able to fight him off and run home, where she contacted police.
The woman was not injured in the incident.
Officers from Shoalhaven Local Area Command are investigating the matter and would like to speak with a man who they believe may be able to assist with inquires.
He is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, 30 to 40 years of age, about 175-180cm tall, with a solid build and dark brown wavy hair. At the time he was wearing a black long sleeve top, dark denim jeans, skate shoes and a black baseball cap.
