THE most dramatic property damage at Numbaa following the storm was a house that lost its roof.
Owner Brent Pepper has owned the old farmhouse for seven years and lives in an adjoining shed.
“The wind was just incredible, it was just so loud,” he said.
“The windows in the shed were shaking, it blew in the roller doors and they were flapping madly.”
They were swinging close to a ute parked in the bay.
“I tried to get to the doors and secure them but they were just flapping too hard and I was worried they would take me out,” he said.
“There was a loud bang and the roof and verandah on the old property just came off.
“They just peeled away. Trees crashed down everywhere. It was pretty wild.”
