The Donate Life Book of Life sits on a table, surrounded by balloons. It could be a life-changing read.
The beautiful book contains stories of hope about organ and tissue donation written by everyday Australians.
The book is at the library as part of Donate Life Week, which runs until Sunday, March 3.
Donor recipients, donor families, live donors and everyday people share their experiences in the book.
One of the people who shares her story is well- known librarian Robin Sharpe.
Ms Sharpe told the moving story of donating of a kidney to her brother Stephen.
In December 2010, she donated a kidney to Stephen and never regretted the decision.
“The decision to donate was a quick one but the process to do so took over a year,” she wrote in the book.
“His condition was deteriorating and when I saw this, I was completely comfortable with my choice to donate.
“Stephen is now doing really well and I notice no difference in my health now that I only have one kidney.
“I feel so glad that I could make such a difference to someone’s quality of life.”
