One dead, three injured in South Nowra crash

A man has been killed and three other people injured in a three vehicle crash at South Nowra last night.

About 11:30pm, Thursday 21 February 2013, a Toyota Corolla and a Toyota Tarago were involved in a collision as they travelled in opposite directions along the Princes Highway.

The Toyota Corolla then collided head-on with a Ford Courier.

The driver and sole occupant of the Toyota Corolla, a 27-year-old man died at the scene.

A 69-year-old man travelling in the Ford Courier was trapped for an hour before being freed by emergency services. He was taken to Shoalhaven Hospital before being airlifted to St George Hospital.

The 36-year-old male driver and 29-year-old female passenger in the Tarago were also injured in the collision. They were taken to Shoalhaven Hospital for treatment.

The Princes Highway was closed with diversions put in place while officers from the Southern Region Crash Investigation Unit attended and conducted examinations of the scene.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are continuing and police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
