I WAS driving past the corner of Jervis Bay and The Wool roads at Vincentia the other morning, looking towards the new supermarket site, when I spotted the green Woolworths sign announcing “coming soon to this site” tied to the sight fence.
Somebody had spray-painted, “Piss off put trees back” on the sign.
It seemed normal for the type of mindless vandalism we have in this area every night, until I passed the other sign at the western end of Jervis Bay Road, which had also been sprayed with the same nonsense.
An hour later, when I passed by again, the signs had been removed.
Let’s welcome these employers to this area and the associated smaller businesses, which will follow the bigger company's move. This area badly needs employment opportunities, so the sprayers can earn some money and put it to better use.
