The list of Shoalhaven first grade players out of action through suspension has risen to eight.
Bomaderry opening batsman Scott Fagerlund and teammate John Muggleton were both handed three playing day bans at a Shoalhaven District Cricket Association judiciary hearing last Thursday night.
A press release issued by the SDCA advised both players had been suspended for breaching the SDCA code of behaviour during the Kiteley’s Roofing Twenty/20 final on February 3.
It is believed Muggleton’s suspension was for kicking the stumps out of the ground after being run out, while a verbal altercation between Fagerlund and a Berry player after the Tiger’s opener was dismissed appears to have led to him being handed a similar sentence.
Both will miss this weekend’s match against a depleted Nowra team that also has six players out through suspension.
With Bomaderry having the bye in the final round Fagerlund and Muggleton will not return for their side until the semi-final round.
