ONLY two years ago Shoalhaven City Council utilised, mainly, government funding to install CCTV in the Nowra CBD.
It is alarming that now, after such a short period of time, a recent audit identified that bird damaged cabling had to be replaced, a server needs to be replaced and that the cameras that were installed were already using ageing technology.
I acknowledge that Shoalhaven City Council may not have installed the equipment itself, however I cannot understand why it did not ensure that more modern equipment was not sourced.
It appears that the ratepayers have not obtained good value for the money spent on this equipment.
