Charity pleads for return of stolen banner

THE William Campbell Foundation’s 10-metre banner has been taken from the Stockland Nowra fence on the Princes Highway.

“We’ve waited a few days in the hope that someone would return it to us, but have had to report the incident to the police,” said foundation general manager Andrew Munro.

The theft occurred a week ago on Saturday night.

“We are appealing to members of the public to contact us if they have any information that would help us retrieve it.

“I am saddened that someone would take down a banner that is promoting a good cause.”

William Campbell Foundation is a South Coast charity that provides foster care and support services for children who are who are unable to live with their immediate families.

“We don’t have a promotion budget and are mostly dependent on the support of organisations like the South Coast Register to promote our need for foster carers. The missing banner cost us more than $800, which is a considerable sum of money for an organisation like William Campbell Foundation,” Mr Munro said.

If you can provide information about the missing banner, or want to inquire about becoming a foster carer, contact 1300 130 585.
