A NORTH Nowra man caught with 10 ecstasy tablets on his way to a music festival in Sydney has been fined $500 and given a 12-month good behaviour bond.
In Nowra Local Court, William Stephen Mackay, 24, of Jarrett Close pleaded guilty to possessing a prohibited drug.
Police were patrolling Art Gallery Road as Mackay was making his way to the Fuzzy Field Day at the Domain on New Year’s Day.
A plain clothes officer overheard Mackay say to his friends, “That was lucky” as he walked past someone else being searched.
Officers stopped Mackay and noticed he had an object in his mouth which they asked him to remove.
It was a resealable plastic bag containing the 10 tablets which he said he had just bought for $300.
