A WOMAN died Saturday night from injuries she received in a
single vehicle crash last week at Coolangatta.
Shortly after 9am on Thursday February 7, an 18-year-old woman was driving her
Holden Barina west on Bolong Road at Coolangatta.
According to a police report it appeared the Holden drifted onto the grass
verge and the driver has overcorrected with the vehicle spinning for some
distance before it left the road and struck a speed advisory sign and a tree.
The woman sustained serious head injuries and was treated at the scene by a
passing ambulance paramedic.
The woman had to be extricated from the vehicle by Ambulance Rescue.
She was then conveyed by road to Albion Park and airlifted to St George
Hospital intensive care unit where she was placed on life support.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
