Short memory leads to fine

A FORMER Bomaderry man who forgot he had been disqualified from driving has been fined $1500.

In Nowra Local Court, Malcolm David Cochrane, 23, had his address recorded as Edwards Avenue, although he now lives in the Northern Territory.

Cochrane, who didn’t attend court, pleaded guilty saying he had forgotten he was a disqualified driver in NSW.

Police stopped Cochrane at 1.45pm on Bolong Road on January 12.

A check showed he had been disqualified from driving from August last year to May this year for drink driving.

Cochrane told police he was using a Northern Territory licence and had forgotten about the NSW disqualification.
